Project Overview

The City of Plano is embarking on a process to list Downtown Plano on the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP). The NRHP is an official list of the nation's historic places worthy of preservation. The list comprises of districts, sites, buildings, structures, and objects significant in history, architecture, archeology, engineering, and culture at the community, state or national level. One of the benefits of such a listing would make applicable property owners (district-wide) eligible for state and federal tax incentives and provide a prestigious and formal recognition of a property’s or district’s historical, architectural, or cultural significance based on national standards used by every state. Information on additional benefits can be accessed at here.
