Classes

Shade Gardening 101 – Do you struggle with shady spots or places where grass won’t grow? Our very own Erin Hoffer, Compost Educator and Master Gardener, created this class in response to our most frequently asked question, “What can you grow in the shade?”

Selecting the Perfect Turf
We walk on it, play on it, mow it and water it – but there’s so much more to turfgrass! Join us as we host Daniel Cunningham, a horticulturist with the Texas A&M AgriLife Research and Extension Center in Dallas, to offer this FREE workshop on turfgrass selection and maintenance. 

Rain Gardens
Join us as we host Patrick Dickinson, a horticulturist with the Texas A&M AgriLife Research and Extension Center in Dallas, to offer this FREE workshop on rain garden design, construction and maintenance. Patrick will provide a plant list and valuable insights.

ULandscapeIt – Want to redesign your landscape, but not sure where to start? Right plant, right place is our motto. Texas A&M AgriLife Water University’s ULandscapeIt will help you select and arrange plants using predesigned templates. Design and view your virtual landscape before you tackle the real thing with peace of mind. This new online tool will help you plan a water efficient landscape.

Online Plant Database – There are hundreds of wonderful plants that are well-suited to North Texas. Texas A&M AgriLife Water University recently launched a new and improved plant database that you’re sure to enjoy. Search by color, size, plant type, light requirement and more. The photos are fantastic too!

Texas SmartScape Website – The Texas SmartScape website features pre-designed templates and a plant database. In addition, it hosts information on regional demonstration gardens, landscaping events, sales and more.
