I adopted my best friend on August 24, 2016. I hadn't been expecting to get a dog for a couple of months, but the moment I saw a photo of Tucker (now Harold) the wire-haired dachshund online, I knew he was the one. I was at Plano Animal Shelter three days later to visit him and see how we clicked, and I immediately knew I needed to have him in my life. Harold is my soul mate, and I'm so thankful for the Plano Animal Shelter making this unexpected decision and process as easy as it could be. After my successful adoption, I know that I will always adopt and not shop when I'm ready to look for Harold's future brother or sister.

I adopted Bob (Bob O'Link, Link, the Linker, Bob Tapper) from Plano animal services back in 2009. We lived in Richardson at the time, and Plano had a reduced fees program going on. I saw Bob and immediately fell in love. Fast forward a year, and we moved to the LA area. Bob was the one cat who took everything in stride. Bob was the absolute coolest, quirkiest, sweetest pet I've had. We had to relieve Bob yesterday, as his age was catching up with him. I wanted to send along a heartfelt thank you to the people at Plano Animal Services (specifically Debbie, who steered me toward Bob). Best kitty ever.

Wally has become family since coming home 5 months ago. He graduated from his AKC CGC class this past Sunday with flying colors and is starting the Advanced CGC class next fall. He definitely believes he is a lapdog and that he is the center of attention everywhere we go (which ends up being true most of the time). Tug of war is his favorite and he will bring you his toy and nudge you with it until you pick it up to play with him. He is a super energetic pup who loves walking or running 2-5 miles a day and has put on 15 pounds of muscle. Although he's super rambunctious when playing, he lets my 1 and 4 year old nieces play all over him and is super gentle. Bringing him home was by far the best decision I've ever made and can't imagine life without the big goofball now.
