Coyote Creek Park cleanup yields 1,160 pounds of trash

Organized by Live Green in Plano—the volunteer arm of Plano’s Sustainability and Environmental Education Department—cleanup volunteers were able to collect more than 1,100 pounds of refuse in two hours!

Volunteer projects like these are vital for keeping Plano’s parks and trails clean and safe. For those who want to do your part, there is still time to sign up for the city’s Great American Cleanup on April 8. More than 1,800 volunteers registered last year and collected nearly 11 tons of trash collected from Plano parks, trails and creeks, as well as neighborhoods, streets, schools and businesses.

This year, Live Green in Plano’s goal is to have 2,500 volunteers and to clean up at least 15 tons of litter. Volunteers will be treated to a special appreciation party afterward complete with pizza, live music, face-painting, educational booths and more! Registration is open March 1 – April 4. Visit the event page for more information and help us keep Plano beautiful!
