Know someone whose air conditioner has gone out or plumbing is failing but cannot afford the repair? The City of Plano Housing Rehabilitation Program and a city inspection may be able to help.
Grants up to $10,000 are offered to assist low-income qualified households with minor emergency repairs on their homes. Repairs include inoperable air conditioning units, leaky hot water heaters, broken sewer and water lines, and other repairs deemed eligible. This is not for remodeling projects but for property conditions threatening the health and welfare of families without warning.
Once an application is processed, the applicant must participate in a one-on-one appointment with a housing and community services coordinator. Incomplete applications are not processed. Get program eligibility information and download the application. If you have questions, call 972-208-8150 and ask to speak with a housing and community services coordinator.
