  1. Wildlife Rehabilitation Basics Class: Well Baby Care

    This class is for wildlife rehabilitators, Animal Control Officers, and others who may provide basic supportive care for orphaned, ill, or injured wildlife, or work with the public to resolve wildlife issues. The course covers: 1. Overview of Wildlife Rehabilitation 2. State laws governing rehabilitation and permits 3. Safe capture and handling/Personal Safety 4. Health concerns for rehabilitators 5. Intake and well baby exam (including hands-on exam activity) 6. Hydration and fluid therapy (including injection practice lab) 7. Feeding and nutrition 8. Wellness, enrichment, and preventive medicine 9. Release criteria The class format is a combination of lecture, discussion, case study, and hands-on lab. The fee covers both days of instruction, manual, all lab materials and handouts.
